Li Ching (1948-) was a graduate from the acting training class of the “Southern Experimental Theatre Company”. She signed a contract with Shaw’s, and was then cultivated as an actress for historical period costumes, which she donned in her initial appearances in The Crimson Palm (1964), The Lotus Lamp (1965), The West Chamber (1965), etc. In 1965, she was awarded the Movie Queen of the 12th Asian Film Festival at the young age of 17. She was therefore named the “Baby Movie Queen”. From the time she joined Shaw’s in 1964 until she parted in 1976, she had made over 50 movies, and among which only a few were in modern settings. The few were Susanna (1967), Sexy Girls of Denmark (1973) and several other films. She was a favorite star under the Shaw’s banner in the 1960s and 70s.
