Local Public Works

In the post-war years, the Government worked on improving access to remote areas and farmland irrigation to optimise land use and manual labour. KAAA complemented these efforts by donating resources to village communities. They distributed over 430,000 bags of cement (22,000 tons) plus other building materials for the construction of village paths, dams, and irrigation channels.

Improvements as a result of these measures included better working and living standards for villagers, enhanced agricultural productivity and social cohesiveness. The faster transportation of fresh vegetables meant that this produce would surpass rice in terms of economic value for farmers.
